Coach’s
Statement
I believe that my perspective and philosophy for coaching and training will strongly impact the football program at School. The value that I hold true in my ethic can be delivered in one word “Transform.” It seems like a simple word but indeed it is a powerful one, in the Oxford dictionary it shows; “Makes a marked change in the form, nature, or appearance of.”Transformation is the foundation of which my philosophy stems from. It is more than just the sport and skill that the players learn for football. I want them to change their lifestyle and dig deep into who they want to become now and in the future. So they can earn respect from their parents, future bosses, and whatever dream they have for their future. The biggest goal I have for this program is to teach the players that it is not only about the sport, but also that family comes first, and education come second. Everything else on their list is a lower priority.
Transformation is the key, I want to guide and teach the players whom they truly are. They can use this philosophy on and off the field and apply it to their education. It is not about winning the games. Winning would be nice, but it’s not my only focus role as a coach. It is about the sacrifice and relentless work ethic involved that will make the program great. The focus will be centered on a family-based atmosphere, including the coaches and the players. I want them to feel this atmosphere always including in locker room and have a positive impact fueled by the electricity from their fans in the stadium and at school. It’s not about the winning team or numbers. The focus is on sportsmanship and a family-based center, so they can take that skill and earn respect and find balance in their life. The philosophy guides the team to show them how important their future is and what it means to be a role model.
The other foundation of my philosophy is education, this is key to a successful life and future. This shapes who they are and where they will go in life. They may think that it doesn’t matter, and their athletic abilities outweigh the importance of getting good grades and learning. Injuries happen in sports and sometimes end careers. I do not want any one of them to be one of those athletes that puts all of their worth into their physical skills, and later end up injuring themselves and thinking that is the end of their life. I want them to have a good foundation of education and know that it is there for the rest of their life!
I want to teach the players why it is important and valuable to earn respect. I will teach them this by showing them they will have a bright future if they prioritize the important things first in their life which should be their family and education. I conclude this letter with my own statement “I truly believe transformation is key. With the focus of positively transforming ones life in this program it will impact each individual in more than just football. These learned values and priorities will lead to a bright future, as long as they learn this skill happiness will always be the key to their success.”
